We’re glad you asked, darling! Here’s what they’re saying:

I love this book for so many reasons, but first I feel the need to point out that this is not a blog book. Meaning, you won’t get a book full of posts you already read on the blog for free. Because who wants to pay money for that? Instead, the book distills some of the wisdom Tom and Lorenzo have learned from watching celebrities over the years and (hilariously) teaches you how to apply it to your own lives.”

I loved this book! As a long time reader of their site, I especially appreciated the foreword that mentioned how this book was only directed towards the crazy antics of the celeb set. The “celebrity affirmations” sprinkled throughout the book are funny and sometimes relevant– when life gets stressful, these can be inspirational to celebs and normals alike! The running “Jennifer/Ginnnif’r/J’en” name joke is hilarious and always popped up in the weirdest of times, which kept me laughing the whole time. I loved how Tom and Lorenzo could translate the star’s outlandish behavior into tricks that could work for normal people, whether it be for building a better self esteem or having more ambition.”

Their wit has always been right on point and biting when it needs to be. It’s perfect that they get to expand from normally commenting on the red carpet looks of the stars to the celebrity machine as a whole. Written as a sort of do-it-yourself guide to becoming a celebrity, this book shows you how to set off on your own path to stardom (even if it’s only in your own neighborhood) with hilarious peeks behind the curtain of Hollywood. I really loved it.”

Be Me or Do Me, however, is not a style or red carpet book. Instead, they focus the narrative on advising people on how to feel as though they have worth in the world of style — essentially, people should emulate celebrities when it comes to owning a look and projecting confidence (but, they’re careful to note, emulating pretty much anything else celebrities do is ill-advised).”

***

It’s a hilarious critique of celebrity culture, done as faux self-help. It feels both timeless – few celebs are mentioned by name – and current, looking at scandal, style and how to live life to the most fabulous.

It’s mandatory reading for anyone who loves celebs, and considering you’re reading this column, that means you.”

The devilishly, delightful duo take on personal style, celebrity dysfunction and self-image & projection. 5 pages in, and I already have a list of female friends & family that I will be gifting this book – required reading for every girl, over the age of 16.”

This week in books we love, @tomandlorenzo’s Everyone Wants to Be Me or Do Me. #fabulousandopinionated”

“Everyone Wants to Be Me or Do Me: Tom and Lorenzo’s Fabulous and Opinionated Guide to Celebrity Life and Style arrives on bookshelves — Filled to the brim with their signature snark and sass.”

***

In their new book, Everyone Wants to Be Me or Do Me, star bloggers Tom & Lorenzo reveal the upside to believing that the world revolves around you – namely, the confidence and attitude of an A-lister.”

Your Snarky Best Friend Just Wrote A Book. I have been reading the book for a few days and it is funny! Wow!”

***

“It satisfies me in a way no heterosexual man, (or indeed men) could ever do. The book looks at the building and maintenance of celebrity image, and of course rips the arse out of it.”

***

“Everyone Wants To Be Me or Do Me” (I mean can you even handle that title?) pops a big hole into the balloon that is our celebrity
obsessed culture. Then they’ve taken that air and pumped it back into
real people, who need to know that they too can feel like superstars.”

“The book is a perfect extension of the bitchy, snarky yet honest remarks we’ve all come to know, love and agree (or disagree) with over the last few years and brings a new, much needed voice to the style book category. I was so into it I read it in two days.”
